16032025 First Blog!

So.... my first blog! I just wanted a place to write into the void. I don't think I really want comments or anything like that. I was also looking at blog code thingys like zonelet but idk how any of that works and it seems like a lot of effort.
This is my space to ramble about anything, I also wanted to archive this point in my life. I am nearing the end of my degree and heading out into the world of adulthood and want a place that more of a digital escape than other platforms. I have social media such as instagram and tumblr but it's hard to actually write how i feel sometimes.
I want this to be my digital diary that I will update every so often. Maybe people will see it, maybe they won't, I don't really care. I love the customisation here!
So anyway, back into how life is right now... I am working towards my last few assignments for my degree, one being an 11,000 word dissertation. My project is looking into how stream pollution from abandoned mines has effected the soil mesofauna as well as looking into the pollution that is still present, if any. My findings are quite interesting so far, with the X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) data on my sediment coming back with high levels of many elemnts, especially iron. This was expected as the pollution was from ironstone mining. However Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES) data showed little to none of these elements present in the water itself. Current theory as that the reed beds implemented to remdiate the water has worked but the old pollution has dropped out of suspension and still effects the sediment. Which most likely isn't great for my little invertebrate friends... though I will process my data more and see if the locality and species distrubtion are effected.
That's enough about work! I want to talk about some music I have been enjoying recently. If you've checked out my music tab you may have seen my favourte albums and artists (I will probs update this from time to time). There are soooo many albums I love and if I could add my whole 5000 hour playlist to it I would. But alas, one must be descisive sometimes.
I have been to a few shows recently, namely Negative Approach with some awesome local bands as well as Un Automne de plus, a sick french screamo band that you should check out! I have also found myself slipping into those old roots of being a fangirl... First with kpop back when I was like 12 and now with bands such as MCR and PTV. Theres something so fun about watching interviews and performances and just being all excited about good music and cool people. Though I would like to stress, as I have become older, I have definitely come to appreciate setting a healthy boundary with this stuff. You can most certainly be a "fangirl" and not have parasocial relationships with artists. This especially with shipping... these are grown adult men with families and you're saying they're in love? 1) why would you think its okay to assume someones sexuality and 2) even if they did have a thing bruh it's none of ur business and they probs wanna move on. I myself am guilty of reading fanfic when i was a kpoppie but back then my stupid child brain couldn't see why that was weird or wrong. I saw these handsome kpop men as characters not as real people with real personalities. But then that goes onto the conversation of how false the kpop industry is... and thats a wholeeee other can of worms.
Ramble over, It's fun to just word spew and also get to design this cool page! I might update at some point soon, my life isn't too enventful. I just booked to see Hail The Sun in July which I'm so excited for! I saw them last year with The Fall of Troy and Kaonashi. Speaking of, Kaonashi are coming to my city the day after HTS but I'm not sure if I'll have the reserves left for that lol.
Anyways, for now I'm signing off, I have to actually do my assignments and stop pissing about on this site hehe. Bye!
